It's probably become somewhat apparent to any of you who care enough to come in here and read this that we haven't exactly been extremely active, at least not in terms of songs posted. This page has been lying dormant for long periods dealing with rampant neglect. So lets start off with some proper intros and background then maybe we can understand this whole 3rd Ear thing! It's worth a shot.......................: I guess the first thing to address is, "What IS 3rd Ear anyway?" 3rd Ear isn't really anything. By that, I mean, it's not about being something. It exists to channel collective, creative thought into an audio format. It's hip-hop in the sense that it allows for unhindered experimentation and open-minded, reckless abandon when it comes to creating music. It's about opening the 3rd Ear to hear the full spectrum of aural reality and beyond, just as you would open the 3rd Eye to see beyond the fabric of visual reality. It's sometimes sounding bad on purpose to come out sounding good..........................: Asari Ungramen approached experi-MENTAL Disorder with the prospects of a collaborative hip-hop project. Asari had been looking for someone to make some unique, original music for him to put his mind-warping lyrics to, and it just so happened eD was looking for someone to put some mind-warping lyrics to his unique, original music. This was an endeavor experi-MENTAL Disorder hadn't gone into previously, but gladly welcomed the opportunity and accepted AsaRi UnGramen's offer. Some discussions were made and ideas began to form. AsaRi UnGramen would be known as just AsaRi for this project and eD was originally going to be called 3rd Ear, but it was agreed it worked better as the group name, so he adopted the moniker Sp3cial eD. Later Sp3cial eD discovered that name had been used many years before and so, subsequently, is now called Brandomatic. And so AsaRi became the Right Ear, Brandomatic became the Left Ear, and together they form 3rd Ear. Eventually Brandomatic recorded some music and further developed the concept of 3rd Ear with logos and artwork. AsaRi came back with some amazing lyrics that added to the music in a way that caused big grins after the mixdown. Alas, tragedy struck just after Brandomatic finished recording the next instrumental and further recording ceased for many months. However, in the downtime, AsaRi continued to write and Brandomatic started writing more lyrics too. Things finally came back online and more music has been made and more lyrics have been written, but it's still a slow process. There are many factors involved that hinder the free-flow ability to continuously record new material. Scheduling conflicts, time constraints, other priorities and responsibilities are all major roadblocks but have all failed to curb the creative effort involved in this project. There's still a long way to go to get close to the sound we want and focus on 3rd Ear the way we want, but as long as there is creation, there is progress.......................: Just a sidenote to thank all the friends even if you only gave us an initial listen. Any and all support is always valued and important. 3rd Ear is also always open to suggestions and constructive criticism, advice and assistance, and of course monetary donations are more than welcome. 3rd Ear will continue to add music when possible and appreciates your patience. Thanks.
