About Me

I recently read this quote from Henry Rollins. This pretty much sums me up:
"How could anyone want to stay home when the entire world stretches out before them? How can they be satisfied with so little? Don't they hear the voices of all the rivers, seas and mountains call out to them? Or have their ears been dulled by the roar of the work place? Have they been bludgeoned into a stupor by television and the failure of dreams that didn't have to die? Some get out and some don't. Many don't want to go anywhere though. They're happy with what they have. Maybe it's better that way, imagine the lines at the airports. Perhaps I have it all wrong. Maybe I'm nuts running around all over the world trying to see things. Maybe I am not being responsible not getting a real life. Maybe I am avoiding myself by doing all these stunts. Maybe it's time to buckle down and get that job at the copy place and shoulder that American load and get that ache in my back that tells me that I am pulling my weight, or at least the boss's weight. I see these people who aren't "running away" from life. I see them in traffic. I see them getting divorced, fighting to see their kids. I see them overweight and bitter. I hear them telling me bullshit like 'It must be nice man, you're lucky.' Oh screw you, you make me tired."

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

A friend I can learn from. Teach me about opera, how to handle a hand gun, how to roll sushi, your favorite artist, how to fly fish. It's not so much about finding an instructor as finding an adventure.

I also have the highest respect for wordsmiths, persons who can take the simple thread of the written or spoken word and weave intricate tapestries of humor, philosophy, thought and storytelling. Like these guys for instance….
