For those who don't know me... I love my pets: Mia, my tiny black monkey-cat. Drey, alsdkfhweofi! Sooo cute! And Sid who, ironically, is sometimes vicious.
I'm a sucker for the elegance of movement (perhaps I'm a closet Futurist) therefore, windy days are my fav. Fog over open water comes in a close second.
My current artwork consists of redefining the limits of contour line drawings often with the uncanny use of VHS film. I address theories on aesthetics: the destruction, dissipation &amp; redefinition of beauty. I paint in oils, have disasters with resin, and create abstract chickenwire/plaster sculptures.
My love for art includes: Sara Lucas &amp; other revolutionary female artists. The immense Richard Serra. Odilon Redon &amp; all things imaginary. Dada films. The motionless characters in Giotto's paintings. The way Gustav Klimt painted flesh. The metropolitan solitude of a Giacometti cast. And of course, Egon Shiele, my favourite pervert. Oh, and Damien Hirst is a genius.
I take comfort in the little things, such as packing peanuts, pencil shavings, making faces in the mirror to amuse myself, banana seats, leg warmers, and dromedaries. I'm also rather fond of crossword puzzles.
I collect fortune cookie fortunes (I will recycle them with good use), funeral mass cards, and W magazine.
I'm not a fan of favouritism, I prefer lists (a top 5 is much more accurate). Of course mine only have a shelf life of 3 weeks [insert ADD excuse here]. I possess an average hatred for Paris Hilton &amp; the like. While we're discussing things I hate... carbonation. "I'll have a nice cold glass of FLAT soder, please."
