About Me

I'm currently drumming in the Queen musical - WE WILL ROCK YOU at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto. I've been doing it for the last two years, along with sessions and other freelance work. Before this, I was a member of the Kim Mitchell Band for two years and still get the opportunity to do some gigs with Kim. I also play with the best cover band on the planet - The Test Icicles.I've had the pleasure of touring and recording with Juno Award winner Derek Miller for a few years and have played with Alannah Myles, Sass Jordan, Moe Berg and Tom Cochrane. Me, me, me.... I loved my two year stint with seminal Toronto punk band, The Raving Mojos and my first taste of theatre came when I performed in the Toronto production of the rock musical, Hedwig And The Angry Inch. I formed my own group, Snapdragons, with my friend Keith Andrews and released a great record.Touring Canada and Europe with Taste Of Joy, plus various jingles, club gigs and TV shows round out my activities since the mid-90's. The formative years, however, were spent with Haywire. We released four records, sold quite a few of them, filmed nine videos, and toured relentlessly. It was a great run and we still manage to dust it off and do the odd show. I also have to mention my first band, Broken Toys. We criss-crossed the country many times in the early 80's and this was where I first truly discovered the drums. If anyone told me then that I would be jamming 'Smoke On The Water' with Ian Gillan and Kim Mitchell, backing up Brian May on 'Bohemian Rhapsody', performing for Robbie Robertson at Canada's Walk Of Fame or playing at The Budokan in Tokyo with Haywire, I wouldn't have bought it.I happily endorse Sonor Drums, Sabian Cymbals, and Regal Tip Drumsticks.

DEREK MILLER WINS JUNO.

Derek Miller’s ’The Dirty Looks’, a record where I drummed on half of the tracks, won the Juno this year for Aboriginal Recording of the Year. Nicely done, sir.
