About Me

Rising from the ashes of legendary NW power chord pushers the Mono Men comes Watts. Loud and proud, the name is there for a reason. Featuring ex-Mono’s Dave and Aaron, Jeff "Iron Lung" Braimes from Seattle metal mavens Panic, and new recruit Matthew Lee Johnston on bass (replacing acquitted serial killer Chris DeGon in 2007), WATTS got it together in early ’98, playing their first show in August of last year with label mates The Quadrajets. They have continued their high voltage power rock blitzkrieg throughout the Northwest with the likes of: The Hellacopters, Fu Manchu, The Gimmicks, The Makers, Electric Frankenstein, Zen Guerrilla, and The Fireballs of Freedom. Each time their reception has been overwhelming.
Watts is...Dave Crider on guitar, Aaron on drums, Matt holdin’ down the bottom, and Jeff, bustin, out the vocals. Straight up, in your face raw rock n’ roll power! As goddamn loud as they want to be, and they don’t care who the fuck complains. From Dave’s 70’s pornstar guitar stylings, to Jeff’s potty mouthed monkeyfuck antics to Aaron’s powerful big beef tribal beats to MLJ’s flawless badass low end booty, these cats stone cold brand of rock n’ roll mayhem will not only blow your speakers...but your funky little minds as well!
In December, the band headed into the studio with the emperor of loud Jack Endino, and the results are without a doubt, flat out and full on amazing. Taking bits and pieces from influences like early white soul, seminal garage, 70’s hard rock, and 80’s Aussie omph they have melded their own unique sound...100% pure rock power! Their self-titled debut release is already fetching much deserved attention. Brother, stand back if WATTS hits yer burg, cause they don’t plan on leaving anything alive or able to hear in their wake. For now be sure to enjoy their masterful freshman slab, the self-titled "Watts" LP/CD on Estrus Records.
