Change is something Down for the Count is all too familiar with. However, D4TC has continuously found ways to change for the better. Since its inception in August of 2004, the band has seen three different guitarists, two drummers, and two bassists. The current (and solidified) lineup stands as: Nathan Sirotta (21) – vocals, Kyle Madero (19) – guitar, Anthony Weiss (21) – guitar, vocals, Jason Michalski (24) – drums, John Hernandez (19) – bass, vocals. Despite the constant hurdles being thrown at the band, they have two national tours, three West Coast tours, and a short stint with Warped Tour under their belt. A self-released EP entitled “History in the Making†was released in May of 2005, which sold out of all 500 copies. This was enough to spark the interest of Japanese indie label Kick Rock Music (Valencia, Sound The Alarm, The Space Pimps). The label released the bands’ debut full length album, “Broken Record Tactics,†in Japan in February of 2007. The album was then released in the U.S. in April of 2007. It sold over 1,500 copies in Japan and has sold roughly 900 physical copies in the U.S., while selling nearly 500 digital copies via iTunes. Soon after, Pep-Rock Records, a UK based indie label, offered to release “Broken Record Tactics†in the UK and bring the band over for a tour. Shortly after the UK release, the band hooked up with producer Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Mercy Mercedes, Moneen) and recorded a thoroughly polished 3 song demo to keep listeners fresh and shop to various labels/management. With the help of some captivatingly catchy new songs and a rigorous tour schedule, D4TC looks for 2008 to be THE breakout year.
