Jeff Sherman

About Me

Born in Cleveland Ohio, Jeff took up the guitar at age 11 and began his musical career in high school where his earliest bands performed at local dances and student mixers. He continued to perform locally in various bands while completing Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Cleveland State University. During his musical career he has played lead guitar in a variety of bands and across a wide spectrum of musical genre, including rock, blues, country, pop, bluegrass, folk, country-rock, and light jazz. He is a former college administrator and a long-time resident of Lakewood, Ohio where he lives with his wife and family.
After years of ensemble electric guitar playing, Jeff now performs as a solo acoustic guitarist and vocalist at many of Northeast Ohio's most popular and successful establishments. In addition to his monthly appearances at Fat Fish Blue in Cleveland, over the last few years Jeff has held longstanding and repeat engagements at venues like Brendan O’Neils, The Key West Cafe, M Bistro, and Blake’s Seafood in Westlake, Slainte’s Pub and The John Christ Winery in Avon Lake, Claddagh Irish Pub at Legacy Village, Don's Pomeroy House in Strongsville, and the Jackalope Restaurant in Lorain. He has performed opening concert sets on 2 occasions for the band Wishbone Ash at the Winchester Tavern in Lakewood, as well as for Grammy-nominated songwriter Bill Morrissey. In addition, Jeff has entertained at a variety of major corporate and non-profit events on behalf of organizations like Inside Business Magazine, Cleveland Magazine, and the United Way, and has also appeared regularly at some of the area’s finest private clubs, including the Shoreby Club in Bratenahl, the Canterbury Golf Club in Shaker Heights, and The Chagrin Valley Country Club in Chagrin Falls.

Sounds Like:

An acoustic duo or trio. A looper is a foot-activated device capable of simultaneous record and playback. By recording on-stage and in real-time, and then adding parts as he goes, Jeff performs with far more energy, depth, and complexity than might be expected from a typical solo guitarist/vocalist. While retaining the unplugged character of acoustic guitar performance, looping adds a dynamic dimension to Jeff’s work that audiences across Northeast Ohio have found satisfying and interesting.
