Brainchild of Nelly Gosselin (known to her friends as Nelly G), a native Parisian of franco-american roots and muse to numerous international designers, the HCPG raises funds to sustai the imperiled art of Haute Couture. We must finally accept that Haute Couture, perpetuated by myriad impassioned artisans,is an art form of an importance equal to painting,sculpture,or music. While the wealthy are mad for these traditional arts and drive prices ever higher at exclusive auctions,the number of patrons willing to invest in a unique work of art made from 200 yards of muslin and hundreds of hours of painstaking needlework is diminishing at a truly alarming rate.This, even though Haute Couture is the ultimate indulgence,where so many hands are dedicated solely to the task of elevating the wearer's body to a state of divine grace.

Of 19th century Parisian origins and an ancestral savvoir faire,Haute Couture,as the initiative of a Spanish empress and an English dressmaker,is a quintessential Parisian Paradox.
