My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Just about anyone, really...

Music:

Everyone loves music, but not everyone likes what other people like. I change the music on my page every few days, so hopefully you'll like something here and there. Lately I've been listening to every "jangle pop" record ever written. Jangle pop is some of the best music ever, and these are some bands that typify the genre:

The Smiths The Go-betweens The Clean The Monochrome Set The Byrds The Stone Roses The Popguns Winter Hours The dB's Felt 10,000 Maniacs

Movies:

Anything where the protagonist realises how pointless life is and grows from it, to suddenly feel a subtle purpose beneath human existence.

Television:

Jeeves and Wooster, Match of the Day, the Prisoner, Question Time!

Books:

I love Ecclesiastes and Lamentations from the Christian Bible...other than that, here are some of my favourite authors & poets: W.B. Yeats, Jean Cocteau, William Wordsworth, Albert Camus, Franz Kafka, William Blake, Joseph Brodsky, Soren Kierkegaard, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and of course my fellow Bedfordian, the great John Bunyan.

Heroes:

My poems for January

Seriously, a poetry blog must be the least popular of them all. Most poetry that people write does such a disgrace to our language and offends good sense. If my writing makes you want to tear you...

Funerals

I just returned from the funeral...I don't know how many I've been to now, but they are always different, if any praise can be given of them. I don't typically write the "what's-going-on-in-my-life-at...
