I cut my teeth on recording And splicing and editing 8 track tapes when I was a kid listening to motown hits and many others on WLS AM ... Before FM.... My Electtronics Instructor Said " Fm meant Friggn Magic " ..... I was Interested in Music from a very young age ..... My parents bought a Stereo for me with a record player ... That was it ... after that I was hooked ..Then came The 8 track Tape "made to self destruct " when they would tear up; I would Cut em and splice em back together rewind the silly thing and make it work again I soon began to try to edit them so you couldnt tell they were cut. Only it wasnt perfect of course .. But I learned to cut em where it wasnt real noticable... I ran the tape over the head to hear it and mark it on the back and cut it ... Thus my first editing .... crude but it worked ...... Cassett tape was a better medium....thank God .. I worked with analog tape up through the early 80s.... Digital was on the horizon but not afordable ........ After High School I went to Electronic School....and then to Belmont College in Nashville Tn.......But I started mixing right after High School ...... Garage bands, Club Gigs; the pro circuit seemed so far away.But I had to make a living so music took a back seat ........ more later ..... im tired and your bored ..........lol........
