Just A Strange Guy Who Loves His Music Collection:)
Maybe I should start a weekly music appreciation & education class @ my house...anybody who shares the same taste for Berlin-Detroit style Techno, we should hang out...before I reach retirement age. It's already too late for the club scene...unless I wear sunglasses and a wig. Check my favorite labels & artists under the music section below.
Seems like I am one of those remaining dinosaurs who grew up before there were Internet blogs, Blue&Blackberries, Xboxes, and 500 TV channels. When I grew up, Pong was state of the art, the electronics companies were still fighting over VHS, Video2000, and Betamax as the appropriate standard, and TV consisted of 3 state channels that stopped broadcasting @11PM. Email was probably only used by some nerds doing scenario planning for the day after the Soviets invaded. When I was 8 years old, I had been indoctrinated by a neighbor to sit in a perfect triangle (with regard to the loudspeakers) when listening to music. I never recovered from that trauma. My sister listened to Giorgio Moroder-inspired Disco while trying to tame her acne with a clay mask (with limited success...vinegar is the real deal). In the meantime, step-grandfather enjoyed his marches & polka while daydreaming of his (not so) glorious days on the Eastern Front. Finally, mom & dad would torture my fragile senses with James Last as well as easy listening from various countries (Julio-Iglesias & Roger-Whittaker are some of those nightmare-inducing fellows). I survived all this but barely...and I am dreading the day when I finally give in to listening to "THE CARPENTERS" and will find it quite soothing to the nerves...that'll be the day when it's time to drive off into the sunset!!!!

A list of some of my favorite albums. Mostly electronic music but a few titles from other genres as well. Most of these albums either find their way back in the CD player again & again o... Posted by on Mon, 23 Apr 2007 19:11:00 GMT
