The Burn Mammoth

About Me

From the volatile existence of the ancient ice age comes the Burn Mammoth. Sonic frequencies have resurrected the Burn Mammoth from the unwanted extinction that man and climate brought upon. Through the relentless hunting and killing of the Mammoth the spirit has morphed into the hallow burn and fire of the undying will it once displayed in life. This burning spirit, once consumed by man or woman, can make the believer experience vividness of the mind, along with euphoria of body and psychoactive sight. After this has been matured, the Burn Mammoth will be represented through us. Facilitated through the bones of man.....It’s as much a part of me, as I am a part of the Burn Mammoth.
.........BONES OF THE BURN MAMMOTH
!Thank YOU! For visiting The Burn Mammoth music page. This is my first attempt at creating songs from the ground up. Meaning, that I’m doing all aspects of the recordings…voice, guitar, moog, bass, drums, mixing, engineering, and producing. I have had an itch for a little while now for doing something like this and at the end of 2007, approximately November, I got the motivation and creativity to make it all happen.
It started with a drum beat I made up a year or two ago, the actual drum beat on Pulmonary. I knew it wasn’t something I could play with any of the bands I played with at the time, since it was a beat that came straight from my being and my love of rhythm. So, this past year, I started purchasing recording equipment and I did a bunch of rough recordings then eventually had all the right stuff to do a demo, which I did one for The Blahs. That turned out decent, so I took the drum mic setup I was using for that session and created two songs, Pulmonary and Brain Wrinkle.
Both these songs were completely produced from the drums and my love of rhythm. About a month later, I started trying to write melody over top the parts. I have never written a complete song, and I don’t consider myself a guitarist or vocalist, so this was a hurdle for me. After I gained confidence from playing guitar and learning melodic structure, I laid down the guitars in about a week and vocals about a week later.
Hopefully from these songs I move on to newer and greater things. I’m hoping to release an EP sometime this year.
