I am a 41 year old male, who is incarcerated for a crime I did not commit. You can read about me on my blog: www.freedomfortony.blogspot.com
I am not the monster I have been portrayed as by the media.
Before my arrest, I was somewhat of a workaholic. It was not uncommon for me to work 60-70 hours a week at the headlight factory where I was employed. In fact, I would often volunteer to work on jobs that noone else wanted to do. I played on a basketball team with some guys from work, but other than that my time was spent with my two sons and before he passed away I spent a lot of time with my father making his last days as comfortable as possible.
I had also been manager of Captain D's restaurant where I worked for 7 years without ever missing a day of work.
I faithfully attended church at Austin First Baptist in Austin, Indiana with my sons. I was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time, helping my recently widowed mother to move. Unfortunately, my story is shared by literally thousands of men and women in the corrections facilities, and could easily happen to any one of us.
