About Me

Welcome to the Myspace Homeward Bound Pug Rescue and Adoption of Oklahoma . THIS PROFILE IS MANAGED BY A FOSTER VOLUNTEER. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT ADOPTING, SURRENDERING A PUG OR GENERAL QUESTION PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND A MESSAGE AND WE WILL TRY TO GET BACK TO YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OR WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO TO THE WEBSITE @ WWW.HOMEWARDBOUNDPUGS.COM AND INQUIRE THERE... THANKS Homeward Bound was officially formed in 2003. We are an all volunteer, 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization dedicated to the Pug breed. We want to give every unwanted Pug in Oklahoma and neighboring states a second chance. Our mission is to place Pugs that have been surrendered, abandoned, or abused into loving and caring forever homes.
Homeward Bound will accept each and every Pug: mixed, ill, elderly, alpha, all ages, all sizes and colors - any Pug needing a home. We never turn a Pug away. For us, this is the essence of Pug rescue - to truly rescue Pugs. We frequently save Pugs from high-kill shelters as well as accepting owner relinquishments. We will gladly send updates on the Pug after placement if requested by the original owner.
Upon receiving a Pug, they are placed in foster care with dedicated volunteers. Evaluation and veterinary care are included. Many dogs come through Homeward Bound with heartworms, elongated soft palate, eye problems, and other health issues. Donations are always graciously accepted and greatly appreciated, as well as being tax deductible due to our non-profit status. In addition to monetary donations, we are always in need of supplies ( see our Help page ).
We neither breed nor do we show pugs. Our mission differs from most breeders and show people for whom the primary focus is on conformation to the breed standard and competition. At Homeward Bound, our mission is to see to it that every Pug in need finds a loving home.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The home that will love each and every one of us unconditionally. There are a lot of different ways to help our little pugs. While foster homes are always needed, you can contribute by helping with a variety of items our little boys and girls need everyday. Some items can be obtained at your local pet store or online through retail or wholesale websites. Supporting our pugs with purchased items is a significant way to help.

Also, take a look around your home. That towel or blanket that has been in the closet nobody ever uses, the pillow in the spare room nobody has slept on for years, or those old bowls, collars, leashes….anything that may make a dog’s life easier. These things cost no more than postage but mean so much to rescues.

Of course, donations via check or Paypal will always help with medical bills and daily supplies.
