My true name is Aslang.
I am the only daughter of the master archer and swordsman Egil, the brother of Wayland the master smith and swordmaker.
My mother was the comely warrior-princess Alruna, daughter of Kjarr, the Valirian king of Valland.
When I became of age, my mother who was a shieldmaiden in her youth, sent me off to be trained by the warriors of the Odinnsmeyjar; the Women of Odin.
With the Odinnsmeyjar I earned my warrior name; Black Kraka of the raven-haired and the high-command of the female unit.
Over my life time, I have travelled the great seas to many wondrous kingdoms. I have sat next to many kings and queens while being praised for my deeds on the field of battle.
In the battles of Roskilde and Aldelgjuborg, I had the pleasure to fight along side a viking warrior that stole my heart.
He was called the Bloodaxe, the leader of the Brotherhood.
At one point we shared each others company and love, but our commitment to our warbands kept us separated and occupied.
I still hold a special place in my heart for the warrior called Thorgil Bloodaxe.
