A few things I like: those quiet hours between 1:00 and 5:00 in the morning, cigarettes and coffee, the way Donald Fagen says "nice" in the song "hey nineteen", riding my bike in the snow at night, Michael McDonald's voice in whatever song he chooses to sing, going to watch the sunset in Le Pyla sur mer, near Arcachon (France), Georges Benson's version of "beyond the sea", Gran turismo 4, James Taylor version of "walking my baby back home", the smell of woods in autumn, any guitar solo played by Scott Gorham, peanut butter, Clive Barker writings, Jibé Andreae's artwork, the way Lucifer the cat rolls on her back everytime I enter the room, the first song of any show I played and will, Danny Kaye movies, going to pick up Felix after school and walk the way home talking, early mornings when you're awake for no particular reason, the moment just after a show when you're sweating and exausted and your fingers hurt but you still want some more, any artwork by Simon Bisley, "Moonfleet" the movie, the last stone I picked up because it was nice to look at, Inigo Montoya, my Gibson Les Paul, the fact that whatever you say about the good times the best time is still to come, any movie with Michael Caine in it, that St Blues guitar I used for recording an album and could't buy and never saw ever again, the English countryside, the Aston Martin Vantage I will never have and don't need, that moment in the evening when all is golden, all of Peter Sellers movies, Stephen King's short novels especially "the last row of the ladder", the guitar solo in the song "the light is on" on that Christopher Cross's album, Boddingtons on the tap, that day I jammed unplugged in the side room of the Connemara pub with the guys from Harafish, any movie with Steve Mc Queen in it especially The Great Escape and Bullit, Dean Koontz novels, Bernie Wrightson's artwork, Lance Enriksen, that day we played on boats tied toghether for a birthday party with my friend Bobby and nobody fell and drowned, the movie "Dog Soldiers", "we need a bigger boat" the best line ever, all the shows we went to when I was living in Paris with my friend Henri, the sound of a cable you can't plug on the first try goes: crrfftzzcrrr, Chris Sturgeon explaining to me one night that when he got sick from drinking too much Guiness he was "screaming at the pavement all the way home", "Father Ted" t.v. show, and of course "Fawlty towers", that day we went to play in Sarlat (France) in my 2cv Citroen stuffed with guitar cases and speakers and we listened to "it bites" on my walkman with two headsets with Domi who played Bass all the way to the place, the millions of colors of leaves at fall, that song from Prefab Sprout wich resume everything "I remember that", Dallas Green playing alone on that big stage in Toronto the song "sensible heart", ..
