About Me

Comments
I am not going to write my about me in 3rd person and pretend I am a bigshot singer/songwriter and have people working for me and waiting to micro-manage my every move. Instead, I am using this page to not only reveal my music and my love for music, but reveal myself as a person through my music. My name is
Nidhi
Krishnan
I am a singer/songwriter originally from India. If you say that you have never seen or heard of an Indian music star, there's always a first. I am a trendsetter. But for your benefit; the legendary lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury was Indian. Wikipedia It. I now reside in Australia on the Gold Coast. Born September 1993. I have been singing since I could speak and my first performance to an audience was when I was 3.
I have been training my voice since I was 8 years old. I play piano and guitar and my own work is centered around these two beautiful instruments. I have recently taking up bass guitar and drums and I hope my versatility helps me create the textures, tones and depths in my music. I write my own music but I am currently waiting to be signed or to somehow come across some kind of funding to pay for my originals to be recorded at a commercial quality so that I can share them with the world. I have a fair bit of experience in the recording studio, since I have been recording covers since I was 8 years old.
I pride myself for my versatility with by ability to sing a range of genres including Acoustic, RnB, Indie Rock, Musical Theatre and Ballads. I attribute this diversity partially to my 4 years of training in Classical Karnatic Music and that I still continue teaching this style of music. The voice control and depth this genre gives someone is irreplacable by any other form of singing.
I would also like to note that none of the tracks on this MySpace have been produced with vocal tuning and would like to thank Big Note Productions, Griffith University and Queensland Academy for Health Science in assisting with the production of some of the music.
My music reflects my emotions, my life and my future aspirations. Someday I will be a musician. Fame isn't my priority, it is creating beautiful music and music is the one thing that seems to have been around since the beginning of mankind and will continue to be there till the end. It has shaped and reflected various time periods and historical events in this world, whether you look at impressionism and expressionism where the world was facing turmoil or current rap and rnb where it is all about drugs, sex and money. Music is evolutionary.
I am, as I mentioned earlier, a trend setter. I don't follow mainstream just because it's mainstream. If I conform, it's not because I am a conformist, it's because everyone else is actually following my trend. I think you need to know a bit about me as a person to know what type of music you are in for. I find intelligence sexy, so don't expect my lyrics to be superficial and cliche. They are deep, intricate and represent a journey. I adore fashion. London and Paris would be my ideal places of residence.
I speak fluent English, French, Tamil and Hindi. I hope to add to that list with Italian and Spanish in the near future. I am cultured, composed and independent. You can be sure my music is new, fresh and something to remember me by. That's all for now, you can be sure to see me in the near future. I will make my mark
To contact me, comment or message. I live on myspace. I love feedback, even if you're full of bullshit. It adds a touch of realism to the artificial world we live in, but I would like to say now if you are going to spam my photos calling me a slut or comment me saying I am a bitch then I suggest taking a long hard look in the mirror. If you need to put others down to justify your own sad existence then I feel truly sorry for you. For those of you who appreciate what I do or have something constructive to say feel free to contact me. I am generally a person who can talk/type underwater so just be prepared for a long conversation

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Nidhi Krishnan- Vocalist, Pianist and Songwriter

My teachers are as good as my supporting band:

Marisa Lee

Cathie Hanson

I would here like to thank my teachers for helping me to grow as a musician, performer and singer/songwriter.

The musicians I have had a pleasure to work with are legendary and I would be nowhere without them:

Luan Krasniqi
Alex Thompson
Scott Hewish
Emily Tasker
Lilly Rouge
Alex Dudarko a.k.a Alex Australia
Jono Ranger

And last but certainly not least the few close friends with whom I have spent countless hours and moments with. These people are the ones who give me the concepts, inspiration and ideas to write and compose. There would be far too many to name, should I have to name them all, but they know who they are. Just one special mention goes to a girl called Sarah Rossi:

We have been through thick and thin. Up and down. Inside and out. 8 amazing years full of timeless memories. The words I pour out to you are so special. They create the lyrics i write, but only you hear them in their rawest form, full of emotion before they are whittled down to but a few important phrases. You are my walking diary, for every inch of your own skin you have a memory and feeling mine. We have not always seen life through rose coloured glasses but the life we have seen has been perfect and I wouldn't wish for anything else. If we fuck up, we will fuck up together. Sex&Vodka forever.
Influences: My influences include a vast array of other artists, but there would be too many to name. The list would include all the artists I've ever listened to and considering I have 7, 465 songs on my Ipod at this point it indicates that I pretty much have heard it all. However the world around me influences every musical choice i make. Bring on the nightlife, the fashion, the parties, the rebellion. However In the end, i am just a girl just trying to express myself in this ever changing world and my influences come from how I live my everyday life. A balance of fun and hard work. Here are a few of the artists that i have utmost respect for and who i believe have upheld the idea of true music.

Bob Marley

Bob Dylan

Jeff Buckley

John Lennon

Sounds Like: I have a soulful feel to my music. I am primarly acoustic in sound, but love to sing and perform rnb, rock and pop-rock. I dispise bubble-pop and try to stay as far away from it as I can. To me it is all about class. Now let's talk Bollywood right; my new ambition. So the sound I have is natural, care free and lacking in mechanical studio processing. That's the way I plan to keep it. My piano, my guitar and some smooth R&B beats.
