The Agnorisis elegy has begun back in 2005 (with an old name: Deep Fear), in a small village from Portugal, Moita. The bands first formation consists in five members (Tiago F. on vocals; André M. on guitars; Luis M, the bass man; João M. ..boards; and David, the drummer) and they started playing together very quickly, since the band mates had already jammed around sometimes and got along pretty well.
As soon as they discussed about their objectives to the project and about the goals they wanted to achieve, all the five musicians started working together.
Since each member had its own musical taste, they idealized their sound and agreed to make something based on such genres as Melodic Death or Black Metal, complemented with a Gothic atmosphere created by synthesizers, shrilling voices and screams, and dark and metaphoric lyrics based on historical facts or myths and conceptual thoughts, without any religious connotation or some other creeds.
They were perfect dissidents in the Black Metal philosophy, especially in what concerns the lyrics subjects, and now we can assume that Agnorisis has created an unique sound with original letters, avoiding the monotony and breaking all the patterns.
At July of 2006, Tiago F. (vocals), abandons the band for personal reasons and Severino takes his place by the microphone, bringing with him the confidence that the band needed.
Curiously just about an year later in 2007, in the same month of July, the band welcomes a new vocals, Ricardo Palma, who now fulfils Severino's place.
With the lineup change, it is time to reflection and all the five members decide that this is the right moment for a name change also, even though the band..s Philosophy and musical material (music and lyrics) remain the same. So, for all this we can assume that this is not the end of Deep Fear, but just a simple paragraph in the band history.
Nowadays, the band keeps working together, with a strong will to continue to create good music and conquer all that is possible.
So drop off all your masks and open the curtains, the tragedy is about to begin
