Raha means Happiness in Swahili. Raha Sounds Movement was Born in 1996 in Nairobi,Kenya with just 2 turntables,a mixer and a mic.The sound battled for supremacy and recognition at local clubs and bars in kenya with little recognition amongest the mighty sounds like Kinglion sounds,Jambo,Shashamane and many others that existed at that time. In 1999 the sound Moved to Toronto and quickly Established itself as one of the Champion players of Dancehall,afro,Reggea,soul, hip hop,socca & club hits at events and local clubs in Toronto.To reach a wider diverse audience,RahaSounds joined Baltimore Based Group TruSounds led by Salim in 2006.With a wider diverse stage having been set,the sound System grew wider to include Baltimore,New York,New Jersey,Nairobi and Mombasa.Recently Rahasounds intl Movement was selected by the afro hit music 98.7 Trusoundradio to host a show that explores and shines light on new emerging youth artist and music at the international level called 'POSITIVE VIBES' airing every friday 8pm to 11 pm EST time.This has been a move that we belive will best define the sound's 100% fully commitment to promoting music as an art for positive teachings,expression and entertainment.Rahasounds has always welcomed new ideas, positive members,artists especially the youths,DJs,promoters,and even positive critics for the betterment of the music.If you are one of the above please feel free to contact us.Remember the sound can be hired for entertainment at events like Club Parties, Weddings, Birthdays, Engagements, Fashion Shows, Christmas, New Years, Grand Openings, Barbeques and Tournaments.We have a network group of promoters, entertainers and DJs based in the US, Canada, Caribbean and Africa fully commited to better entertain, inform, promote and export the African & caribean Music, Culture, and Talent across North America and European spots.
