About Me
Great passion for design and colour brought me to admire figurative arts sin childhood.
I couldn’t possibly attend any art school , therefore I tried to learn by studying past painters.
My first paintings date back to 1970. In this period I worked in Taranto where , for the following
10 years , I began my exhibitions with other painters.
My first important exhibition wos in Linburg (Germany) in 1979 at “the Byron houseâ€.
Following years were distincted by a continous expressive research , still always referred to the
rules of the great past masters.
In 1996 I fonde with other painters of Follonica “ The Golfo del Sole association , and remained
Member of it untill 2002. From 1999 to 2002 I held course for children to approach painting and
Worked with maternal , primary and secondary schools of my city.-------------------------------------------------------

--------------MY WORK--------------------------------------------------------
------------PAINTING and SCULPTURE
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
After years of figurative painting and in conseguences of philosophy approaches , I reflected a lot on what
I wanted to rapresent and how I wanted to rapresent it.
After some pauses , studies and attemps I finally understood my direction and tendency : it is to rapresent ,
through painting and sculpture , what we do not see , like e feeling , an emotion , a desire , a social condition ,
all of this through shapes and colours that interpret my thought.
A paint , a picture , a sculpture , don’t have necessarily to be “beautiful†, but they have certainly to arouse
an emotion , an interest and have to bring to reflection.
A paint, a picture , a sculpture have to “ speak “ .
The birth of a work is long and it’s difficult to tell how it raises.
It certainly constructs itself in the mind and it’s a logical conseguence of a philosophy , of a will-power ,
of a meditation .
In the rapresentation of the human body I deal with the “ metamorphosis “ theme.
Body empties itself and leale , or try to leave , all influences , all its fears and its materialità and takes on
the shape of a bird ( the sea-gull) and tries to fly towards freedom.

----------------TECHNIQUE-----------------------------------
------
In my paintings I prefer oil colours laid either with brush or spatula and sequently diluted with a lot of
turpentine. In this way colours amalgamate with more trasparence and create more movement.
Normally I use a stiff surface. Basing on the rapresented subject , I spread a layer of blaster.
Sometimes I insert wire netting shake and for soaked paper.
Sculptures are realized with soaked paper technique .
He structural shape is obtained with wire netting covered with soaked paper .
Oil colours are mainly used :
