My name is Curt Florczak. I run a guitar repair business in the Boston area. I've been a player for over twenty-five years. I initially learned about repairing and setting up guitars out of necessity while my band was on the road. Traveling from one region to the next each often warranted set up adjustments to my own guitars. Eventually I began working on other's instruments and read every bit of info I could regarding guitar repair and set up. I spent time talking with various guitar repair techs, grilling them for tips. I started doing repair work and taught guitar lessons at Crossroads Music in Monrovia, CA. around 2000. After a couple years I opened my own repair shop, C & A Music Supply at Downtown Rehearsal in Los Angeles. At the same time I landed a gig working with legendary guitar builder,guitarist and repair tech Michael Detemple out in Sherman Oaks CA. The time I spent with Mike proved to be an amazing once in lifetime learning opportunity. While working with him I gained vast experience working on many big name client's guitars. At the same time Mike guided me through making my own DeTemple Tele and Strat. I can't express enough the importance of this period in my life. Mike truely is a beautiful human being that I consider one of my absolute best friends. Check my photos for some pics of these guitars which to me are simply the best ones out there! In 2005 I left CA to attend Berklee College Of Music in Boston to work on a music degree. Since moving to Boston I have established my repair shop and services with many great players in Boston.
