Leicester Ark Theatre is thrilled to be thrusting itself headlong into the world of comedy in 2008, starting with a bang at this year's Leicester Comedy Festival. Between the 8th and the 17th of February there's something in this smorgasbord of smirking for everyone.
Fan of stand-up? We've got shows and comedy from Tony Law, Andrew O'Neill, Paul Kerensa, Simon Munnery, Phil Nichol, Ben Schofield, John Ryan and Trevor Lock amongst others.
Love your sketch comedy? We've the sublime Scarlet Pimps and the universally praised Penny Dreadfuls.
Fancy something a little bit different? We have Mickey Take, the ONLY comedy hypnotist performing at this year's festival who is sure to blow you away. We also have ComedySportz, the resident improvised comedy group from Manchester's Comedy Store and a special late night improv special calling itself Wit For Brains. There's also John Ryan's award winning stand-up comedy show for kids, Not Growing Up
If that's not enough, ComedySportz will provide a comedy improvisation workshop for anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 that fancy having a go themselves.
Check out the dates above, check out the photos over to the left but above all come and check out the shows. Most shows cost a mere fiver so they're tremendous value for money. We have a fully licensed bar and somewhere to park so there's no need to drag yourself around the city centre.
Tickets for all the shows can be purchased online by clicking on this link for TICKETWEB. Alternatively tickets can be booked over the phone by calling the box office on 0116 253 9273.
