Originating from the diverse culture and music scene of Chicago, Mike Famouz has set his sights on becoming another to join the ranks of Chicago's finest hip hop artists that have made a mark world wide. Learning to DJ at the tender age of 10, Famouz has always had a natural feel for the components that make up a hip hop joint themselves, the beat, the rhythm, and the melody. Also becoming an accomplished producer in his own right, the transition to becoming a rapper was logical for Famouz, as after he had developed an intuitive feel for the music itself flowing lyrics on top of it was a natural extension of not only his musical skills but his poetic skills as well.
Mike Famouz has not only been working with beats since his preteen years, but he has also been infused with rhyme and verse since all the way back when his peers were still learning the alphabet. He is well versed in engineering with protools systems. His producing experience covers a vast amount of mediums such as using the Korg Triton, Fruity loops, Acid, and Native Instruments midi plugins. Just a short listen to one of his joints is evidence enough to realize that we are talking about a man of pure creativity and poetic style that has no where to go but global.
After a brief stint rolling with Track Kingz, (C.e.o. Mil Ticket and heavyweight producer Vudu Spellz) he himself started his own entertainment/production label called Produckshonz Ent.Not only does he perform, write, and produce for himself he also does the same for his own platoon of talented emcees and R&B singers waiting in the ranks to squad up. You might have seen Famouz at one of his hundreds of shows and appearances including Loyola university opening up for Nappy Roots, or at Navy Pier holding it down for Sean Paul, or even at the DUB show at Mccormick Place (Chicago, Il) signing autographs.
Famouz has also produced several shows through his own promotional company all over downtown Chicago at numerous clubs such as Rebuplic, Bella Lounge, Cinespace, Mood, Vice, and Valentinos. Famouz has been apart of many hip-hop movements, most recently Grind 2 Five headed by fellow Chicago emcee Jargon. He is also apart of Melrose park/Chicago based management and booking team No Wasted Talent.
