DRAGON
You are the dragon. A dragon,
in western lore, is a giant lizard with
wings. It usually has the capability to
breathe fire. The dragon symbolizes immense
power, physical strength, and courage. The
dragon has also been a symbol of wisdom and
of protection. Dragons may also appear to be
greedy as many a tale depict them as keepers
of vast hordes of treasure.
Which mythical creature resides in your soul?
brought to you by Quizilla THE DRAGON
Dragon people are balls of fire! They are full of vitality and love of life. Always on the run, they drag their faithful band of admirers behind them. Dragons are egotistical, eccentric, demanding, and giving.
They are proud, direct, and loaded with high ideals which they always try to live up to. Having a zeal for life, they want to live it on a grand scale. They have the potential for accomplishing many great things as long as they don't get too far ahead of themselves. When dragons do something, good or bad, you can be certain their deeds do not go unnoticed! Dragons are always making the news.
It is next to impossible to win an argument with Dragon people. They intimidate anyone who challenges them. Once you arouse their anger, they keep after you for a very long time. Dragons are extremely loyal to friends and family. When really needed they always come to the rescue. They are the first ones to say "I told you so". In spite of being overly emotional, a Dragon is not sentimental or even romantic. They will just take it for granted that everyone loves them. Although they are stubborn and irrational, they are not petty or begrudging with their favors. It is hard for them to hide their feelings. They don't even try.
Not being secretive themselves, they can't be expected to keep a confidence for long; but Dragons speak from the heart and are always sincere. Their manners may seem brusque and too direct, but they merely want to get things moving. Being creatures of action, they motivate others, too. They often get into rushes and fail to see the flaws in a situation.Instead of diving in, Dragons need to learn to check things out better. Dragons need purpose in their lives, causes to fight for, and goals to reach. An uninvolved Dragon is a sad sight indeed.
Dragons consider themselves very strong. They will often bite off more than they can chew. When this happens, they are too proud to ask for help and exhaust themselves. Dragons can do many things well. They may be artists, politicians, doctors, or ministers. When Dragons choose the right profession, they will be successful and devoted. They just can't help winning!
In romance, Dragons are seldom the losers and are usually the ones breaking hearts. Dragons don't marry too young, and many are content and happier living alone. Dragons will always have more than their share of friends and xadmirers to keep them company. Dragons are really softies and fall apart if they lose their supporters. They dazzle as long as there is someone who believes in them.

My Interests

Ok....check it out. Was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania(aka Pennsyltucky), don't ask.....just don't drink the water. I like to do a bit of traveling, kind of a gozer, if ya know what i mean. My recent adventures have taken me to a quaint little town called Evansville, Indiana. I moved to this area in July of 2005. Art in all its forms has always been my first love so I decided to open up a tattoo studio. I started tattooing around 5 years ago back in good ole J-town, and i have LOVED it ever since. Taught by one of J-town's best tattoo artists, John Gleto, and now continuing my education by working with some of the best tattoo artists in the area.

Music has been and will always be my second love. Born with the songbird name, it was only obvious from the beginning it was in my destiny. Almost every one of the Nightingale's plays an instrument of some sort. Have been playing 6 string and 12 string guitar for about 17 years(since i was 12). I am currently not playing in any bands, however, i AM in search of, so if any musicians out there read this, hit me up cuz i'd like to get something goin. I pretty much like ALL music, well cept country BA A A A A A A....... sorry Indianer but there's no fuckin tear in my beer. Grew up listening to shit like Metallica, Pantera, Slayer. Always loved classic rock as well, Floyd and Zeppelin will FOREVER be on my all time greats list. Can listen to SOME rap but REALLLY gotta be in the mood for it. Now i like to listen to some Korn and System of a Down, Slipknot. Every once in a while I'll get in to some trance or shit like Dead Can Dance(if and when i've been smokin da chiva)....Uhhh, yeah.....Drugs are bad, mmmm k

Which brings me to my other love, PEOPLE........ I love meeting and hanging out with NEW, COOL, and sometimes UNUSUAL people. So you'll prolly find me out with the late night crew ;-) Hammerheads is prolly a good place to look, but i tend to hop around. Anywhere you'll find people and a pool table. Oh yeah and make sure ya bring a couple bucks
;-) Care to shoot pool?

I'd like to meet:

I love people, so I love meeting people. Anybody new, cool and/or unusual. Anybody who likes art, music tattoo's. Anybody who can keep a decent converstion going. Pretty much wuold like to meet everybody.

Carol (Smokey) Nightingale
Carol (Smokey) Nightingale acquired his first tattoo from his mother at the age of eleven. It is said that his mother, who worked in the circus, taught him the art of tattooing.
Nightingale spent twelve years in the Merchant Service and started tattooing in 1957. He called tattooing dermographics. It is said that he specialized in designs related to the female form and used an ultrasonic method of cleaning his equipment. Known as "The Man with the Golden Needle," Nightingale was a chain pipe smoker, hence the nickname Smokey.
Carol Nightingale, a Canadian, tattooed in Alliston, Ontario and in Vancouver, British Columbia at #418 Hastings Street East. He relocated to the United States in 1965 and set up shop in the nation's capital, Washington, DC at #900 Twelfth Street NW where he built a very unique shop.
To enter you would push the buzzer wherein he would come to the door and ask you what you wanted. If you answered incorrectly, he would ask for an admission fee (on my first visit it was $10.00). These formalities over and once inside, you saw that Nightingale tattooed in a metal cage, often with a dog in there with him. His shop was in a rough section of DC, just across the street from the bus station, so his security was above the norm.
On May 16, 1978 Nightingale filed a patent for an electrical marking device, (also known as a tattooing machine) with the US Patent Office. Following is Nightingale's description of the machine, taken from the abstract section of his patent application:
"An electric marking device for tattooing humans, animals, and for other applications comprises a frame assembly having a rectangular prismatic base and a pair of side plates secured to opposite sides of the base, an electromagnet assembly mounted on the base between the side plates, an armature assembly adjustably mounted between the side plates above the electromagnet assembly, an interrupter switch supported between the side plates above the armature assembly, a needle guide assembly holder pivotal supported to the front of the base, a locator key slot provided in the needle guide assembly holder, a tubular needle guide assembly included a central tubular hand piece and upper and lower tubular extensions, a positioning collar secured on the upper extension in predetermined position, a locator key secured to the positioning collar, the needle guide assembly being removable assembled with the needle guide assembly holder in predetermined position by mating the locator key of the positioning collar with the locator key slot of the needle guide assembly holder."
This technical-ese is typical of the language used in patent forms, as if applicants are searching for the wordiest descriptions possible. Nightingale's patent was accepted on July 3, 1979 as #4,159,659. To our knowledge, this machine was never mass-produced and when Carol Nightingale fled the United States just ahead of the authorities, he took the only known copies of this machine with him.
In the 1980s Nightingale formed a supply business named The Hanover Schmaltz Co., probably with the idea of marketing the machine he received the patent for. Information in the Archive's collection of supply houses only offer Nightingale's version of the flip-top tube pre-soldered needles, rather than the completed product.
Frank Mills was tattooed by Nightingale in the early 1980s and later bought equipment from him. In a phone conversation Mills said that the flip-top tubes came in two sizes, the standard tube length (4 inches plus or minus) and the giant size (7 to 8 inches). Nightingale's supply flyer stated the length to be 5 1/8 inch (plus or minus). If you have never seen one of these tubes, here is a description: "These hand pieces (Nightingale's term for a tube) have a precision fitted door that will warm the cockles of your heart; a flick of the thumb and the door opens wide, enabling the operator to clean the interior ultrasonically (or otherwise). The same innovative open door permits you to check the position and alignment of needle shaft and needles, removing the blind spot and guesswork. Also, with the door open, it's a simple matter to withdraw and introduce alternate needle bars."
