My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I am the man behind the blue monster.... I was drawn to drumming around the age of 5 (according to my folks I was banging on everything around the house), at such a youthful age I was inspired to find rhythm, whether with bare hands or makeshift sticks. I caught a live performance by the band "Kiss" on TV, which was that initial spark toward the drums. While attending a picnic held by my father's company a kind drummer (whose band was performing for the event) let me up to play a set during their break, stoking the those embers of inspiration.

Playing all percussion (even the famed triangle!) in the drum section of elementary school band I soon moved on to concert, marching and jazz band by middle school. By age 15 I was involved with several local rock, punk and metal bands and graduated from my first baby-blue set of Rogers drums to a solid-black, huge, double-bass set of Pearl drums.

By age 16 I was recording on my very first album, doing spots on recordings for others and going to school with the other members of my former band Ghost Farm.

I have also been very fortunate to work with many local bands doing recordings and live work as a fill in or as a guest musician.
Everything from jazz, to funk, to country, to top 40 rock, to blues, to death metal, to hard rock, to prog rock. It's been an amazing experience, that has taught me quite a bit about music along the way. Something that I plan to keep doing here on out. Every chance I get to meet and work with new musicians and experience the diversity every artist brings to the table.

I am now (and hopefully well into the future) working with the very talented Jason Allwood, as the drummer for JAB (the Jason Allwood Band). Another extraordinary musician in the Ohio area, that has brought a new breath of musical fresh air to my drumming and live performances.

I completely enjoy the white canvas that playing in bands and with musicians like the ones I have shared the rehearsal space and stage in the past, and my new home, in The Jason Allwood Band
. This affords me, the freedom and space as more than just a drummer, an artist, to paint my individual sonic colors in creation of a shared art. I have performed in many bands and will continue to perform with many other projects when time permits. I openly enjoy a good jam session (feel free to ask me to join in...I am always more than happy to lend myself to the mix!).

News note: I am very proud to be playing DDRUM drums.
I believe DDRUM has steadily been making a name for themselves in the acoustic drum world and are here to stay! I totally fell in love with the Dominion AMX series drums the first time I heard them. The mix of maple and ash is a perfect combination for the sound and feel I was looking for.
I am truly proud to say I play DDRUM!
