What to say about me???
Well, my given name is Kathy - which I haven't used since I was like 5 years old (except for the government and doctors). I use my middle name - LaDema or Dema for short. I 39, single, have no kids, and live in rural Indiana - aka farm country - aka the middle of nowhere. I'm an army brat, living in 4 states by the time I was 6. Probably because of this, I love to travel and sightsee. No trip is ever boring and I'm always ready to go somewhere. My favorite roadtrip partner is Di - who can easily have her arm twisted for a weekend roadtrip, especially if it involves our favorite band LoneStar. Two years ago, at 37, I received the most unexpected news of my life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, I work for a company with great insurance benefits, so I didn't have to sell any body parts off to pay for treatment. So surgery, 8 chemo treatments, 6 weeks of radiation, and almost 2 years later I am CANCER FREE. This really changed my perspective on putting things off or trying new things, because I found out you may not get a second chance to do it later.
My "real" job is as an assistant controller for a locally owned 4th generation owned oil company. And no - I don't get a discount on the gas I purchase. In the summer, my cousin and I have a fledgling business settng up at festivals and fairs selling craft items.
As you can see, my life is pretty tame - which again leads right back to road trippin'.
