Before opening Two Dog Media in 2007, Kim Fowler spent eight years as VP of Artist and Media Relations at Sugar Hill Records, the premiere independent label for American roots music. She created and implemented national media campaigns for the eclectic roster which included Dolly Parton, Tim O’Brien, Scott Miller, Sonny Landreth, Nickel Creek, Guy Clark, and Allison Moorer to name a few. Kim was creative director for Sugar Hill's music videos, and handled all aspects of the press and video campaigns for Dolly Parton’s series of critically acclaimed bluegrass and acoustic albums -- which garnered two Grammy awards.
She was also a key leader in the rise of Grammy-winning Nickel Creek, who were named “music innovators for the new millennium†by Time Magazine in 2000. The band went on to sell two million albums and achieved a host of other successes. Nickel Creek was Two Dog Media’s first client -- later joined by Chris Thile, Farmer Jason (Jason Ringenberg), EMI, Eric Church, Otis Gibbs, Katie Herzig, Bruce Robison, Sugar Hill Records and more.
Current clients include Rhonda Vincent, The Claire Lynch Band, Michael Ford Jr and the Apache Relay, Jeremy Kittel, Barton Carroll, Amanda Shires and more. Kim was recently appointed to Nashville's Metro Arts Commission.
She also spent seven years at Mercury Records in the marketing department, and as Director of Publicity; two years at Network Ink as a senior publicist; and was Director of Publicity for Rising Tide Records (Universal Music Group)
