Born in South Brazil in 1961, Pedro Tagliani began his career in 1978 when he attended music school at the “Escola da Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre“. He perfected his guitar playing and studied at the „Escola do Guitarrista Gaúchoâ€, where he later became a professor. In 1980 he joined the group “Raiz de Pedra†as guitarist and composer. Their collaboration resulted in a work of instrumental music recorded on four LPs: “Trajetória“, „Raiz de Pedra ao vivo“, „Pictures“ and „Diário de Bordo“. This last LP was published by the German label Enja Records. Four tracks on “Diário de bordo†were arranged and played by the pianist Egberto Gismonti and two of these tracks are compositions by Pedro Tagliani.Living in Europe since 1993, Pedro Tagliani has worked as guitarist and composer on countless projects. He recorded numerous CDs und worked with internationally renowned musicians like Dave Samuels and Wolfgang Lackerschmidt.In 1998 he began his solo career when he published the CD „Arvoredoâ€, recorded in Vienna in collaboration with the famous Austrian saxophonist Thomas Kugi. In this new phase of his career Pedro Tagliani played at the guitar festival in Bad Aibling, Germany, where he opened for Ralph Towner and Oregon.He also presents his compositions in trio, quartet and quintet formations.Current projects he is involved in as guitarist and composer: Ahmed el Salamoune & Pedro Tagliani, Melanie Bong Trio, Sophie Wegener & Zona Sul, Viva Chorinho, Pedro Tagliani & Christian Gall.This versatile musician also takes part in trade fairs like the Frankfurt music fair, where he presents FrameWorks guitars.
