VENUS MOURNING DRESS is one-man musical project. It was formed in 2005 in Russia and was known as very Underground project. VENUS MOURNING DRESS combines beautiful Gothic sadness and Dark Occult Black Metal influences, melancholical Neoclassical, in particular Medieval elements and horrible Black Ambient attack, psychedelic esoteric ritual atmosphere and different soundscapes of Nature. Moreover it should be mentioned that VENUS MOURNING DRESS is very Antichristian project that was created to blaspheme christian religion and its silly ideas and values. It shows you another, Dark Occult Path and its supermacy. It is your own right: to choose this Path or to deny it. II. MUSICAL AIMS & MUSICAL INSPIRATIONS

Musical aims of VENUS MOURNING DRESS are very different but the main aim is to create a really dark esoteric atmosphere that can possess all the listeners imagination and take it to another mystical world full of the deepest melancholy, horrible surreal visions and strange occult mysteries.

There are a lot of VENUS MOURNING DRESS musical inspirations. The list includes:

- Sad or pompous Classical tunes of different talented composers such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Frederic Chopin, Gustav Holst, Sergey Prokofiev, Otto Olsson, Richard Wagner, J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mikhail Glinka, Alexander Dargomizhsky, etc;

- Cold Meat Industry stuff (especially Arcana, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Raison d'etre) and other Dark/Black Ambient artists such as Mortiis, Pazuzu, Abruptum, Wongraven, etc;

III.PHILOSOPHICAL BASIS

VENUS MOURNING DRESS philosophy is based on Left-Hand Path principles and, of course, it supports Ordo Templi Orientis and some similar currents. Moreover VENUS MOURNING DRESS denies christianity, islam and judaism but respects some branches of Hinduism, Buddhism, Egyptian and Mesopotamian Pagan Religions, Scandinavian Paganism, the Anti-Kabbalah and, of course, some forms of Satanism.

IV. RELEASES

Firstly VENUS MOURNING DRESS created two compositions for the compilation "The Beast: New Aeon Symbols IV". And then, approximately 5 months later, Quartier23 released VENUS MOURNING DRESS own MCD "Between Beautiful And Sinister" (2009). This mini-album includes 11 monolithically united Dark Ambient and Neoclassical Darkwave tracks. This is a short journey to another reality where a real Darkness and an eternal Mystery reigns. Also VENUS MOURNING DRESS took part in the virtual compilation "United Gothic Underground".
