Tut kak tuT

About Me

The original and distinctive band Tut kak tuT appeared in the space of the present Russian rock music in autumn of 2005 in Moscow. The official date of birth is considered the 13th of November, when the band’s front man Dmitry Tverdy and the bass-guitarist Alexander Shakirov decided to perform several jointly-made songs together with Dmitry Galdilin (percussion) and Sunduk (shaker) at one Moscow club. After such an impromptu the new born band has acquired its initial team. A little bit later the Tut kak tuT has accepted the new member Denis Shilnikov (harmonica). So it has become the classic and permanent staff of the band where sometimes the violoncello accompanies it. At first, the violoncello has been represented by Petr Akimov, but now – by Alexei Orlov (who is a member as well of the band Melnitca).

The charisma of Dmitry Tverdy and driving way of performing by all band’s mates have done its part, i.e. the team has found its audience. Generally, the band performs acoustic-rock, but it’s rather difficult to define explicitly and exactly the music style of Tut kak tuT as here we can see the mix of applied music styles. Sometimes Dmitry Tverdy says just for fun that the team performs the apocalyptical chanson and freak-folk. But more seriously: “I’ve never tried to define our music, to refer to some certain music style, I just sing”.
The core musical band’s idea is a free synthesis of music and words, which precisely once the Russian rock differed from other music styles. The music form is born from the content, feeling, idea, etc. The Tut kak tuT follows the ancient Russian tradition of song culture, having the unity of melody and rhythm. In texts you can feel live ear-catching images putting the audience into the sphere of initial essence. Songs’ themes are very vast.
