Michal Tomaszczyk was born in 1986 in Poland. He is studying Jazz Trombone in Grzegorz Nagorski's class and Jazz Composing and Arranging in Andrzej Zubek's class at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He attended number of jazz workshops(Nysa, Pulawy, Salzbrucken, etc.) being taught by Grzegorz Nagorski, Piotr Wojtasik, Dante Luciani, Ed Partyka, Ralph Alessi, Berndt Lehtenfeld, to name a few. He's a member of Biotone - a jazz quartet, where plays his own compositions and standards. He played with Zbigniew Namyslowski Big Band, Big Band AM Katowice, Big Band AM Wroclaw, Transkapela, Jazzoholics, Jose Torres y Salsa Tropical, Michal Tomaszczyk Quintet, Jazzda, etc. He was a finalist of International Jazz Competition "Zmagania Jazzowe 2007" in Szczecin (judges - Billy Harper, Steve Turre, Piotr Wojtasik, Keyon Harold, etc.) and was 2nd in audience choice (on-line).email:
