One half of the audio visual drum and bass duo Optech, Auke Kruithof, a.k.a. Kapital has been involved with drum and bass since early 2000. After visiting various local parties in Rotterdam, hearing tunes like Bad Company's The Nine, and Konflict's Messiah, the energetic feel of the music grabbed him and there has been no way back since.
Experimenting with early music programs like Fasttracker even before he discovered drum and bass, music production has been of interest to him for quite a while now. In 2003 he produced his first drum and bass loops, and right after that he and Default started Optech, which he performed with for the next few years.
2008 saw the release of two collabo tracks on Ammunition Recordings as well as various solo gigs in Holland.We'll see what 2009 will bring, boh!
