Bands, and more bands... Show Review 5/31/08 @ The Token Lounge...Back Burner, Send More Cops, Ray Street Park. Getting back into the interviewing mode, I feel a little nervous but excited too since its been awhile since I got to sit down to a band and really had a conver with one. I arrived after 10pm, missed Back Burner, sorry guys. Found the whole band conversing together and we decided to take it out back and let the interview take place, which turned out good, I'm pleased. Once back inside we got to watch Send More Cops with Gunner Ross formerly with Ted Nugent, The Almighty Strut as well. As the band warmed up with each song the sound seemed to get louder and it was if we were at Freedom Hill instead of the Token. I liked "I'm Sorry" to name one song along with Gunner's amazing drum solo that was off the hook. Being that this is my first time seeing them I was impressed, they're a good band. They had a decent turn out for tonight but sadly by the time Ray Street Park took center stage at 1am most of the crowd had dissapeared into thin air, they had 20-30 people if that but we were the die hard fans and we still enjoyed the show.RSP did 2 covers, one by Disturb and the other by Pantera along with hits from their newly released CD "Kings of Everything" mixed in the set were some of their older material which I was thrilled to hear. It would of been sweet if more people would of stayed a bit longer to hear RSP. This is why I think its a shame to put a headliner on at 1am, who's going to really be there? The audience is too tired and drunk & might of got a hot new date (lol) before then and has to pass on seeing whoever play. It's no fun anymore to see a headliner of the night when you realize they don't go on until 1am and it's 10pm..yikes...if you do want to see the headliner you miss some of the opening acts just because the headliner goes on the next morning (technically). I remember the good ol' dayz of hanging out and seeing ALL the bands play at a show I went to and still got home by 1 or 1:30ish. Anyway it was a good night. I had a great time. I met the lead singer of Send More Cops, amazing singer, told me one of his influences is David Coverdale. Who knows, you could be reading a interview with Send more Cops soon too...Can't wait...C ya...WSM
