About Me

When you think of small towns surrounded by vast prairies, cows and redneck farmers may come to mind. If you associate music to this theme, you picture country music, barn-romps, and hoe downs. Despite the stereotype, this is the birth place the driving alternative rock conceived by the band Trailer 77. During the spring of 2004, the band was literally started for lack of anything else better to do. Nate Valdez had been a long time guitar/bass/drum/harmonica/piano/organ player and was clearly looking for somebody to create music with. Long-time friends Sean McGrath and Kale Flory were prime candidates to lure into the makings for a future band. Kale picked up the drums after never having touched a stick in his life while Sean strapped on the bass. A few weeks later, they took first at a local county fair talent show winning a grand prize of fifty bucks and Trailer 77 was born. In the following years, all three attended college in the northern front range of Colorado and continued to contribute to the local music scene. When not going to school or working jobs, the band managed to produce two albums. The first album, Fight the Flow, was self-produced and provided a very humbling look into the world of recording. The Price for Popularity was Trailer 77’s second release and has sold hundreds of copies which is about enough “to go aluminum,” as the band puts it. Trailer 77 continues to play at various local venues and colleges opening up for such acts as Tickle Me Pink, Set Forth, Single File, Augustana, and No Fair Fights.
