JC Rip, born in June of 1989, is the epitome of sorrow and sadness. His lyrics are compromised of situations he's lived through, and captures the truth behind the worldwide pain. Though the current state of hip hop disgusts him, he has learned to adapt and infuse alternative forms of art into his craft. Through rock samples, rhetoric elements unlike other artists, and the ability to convey raw emotion through the mic, JC is one of the last real men in hip hop.
His current endeavors include trying to form a united Music Front in the Durham area, by calling other artists from mainly Raliegh, Cary, and Roxboro. He hopes to unite a newly formed scene with others, and stretch it from The Border down to Wilmington, establishing an Eastern Carolina Underground. "By all the artists actually LISTENING to other guys, we all benefit. Though I'm not too heavily impressed with many of the artists in the state, if I can get them to play on each other's strengths, then we can all make beautiful music." Unfortunately, the formation of this front has been slow and tedious, and the response minimal.
Hang yourself to this:
- JC Rip: Joshua Cameron, my cousin, died two days after his 19th birthday. He is possibly the biggest supporter I ever had as an artist, back to the days when i played bass in a punk band. Two days after his funeral, I took up JC Rip as my name for various activities desiring a pseudonym. After quitting these other activities, I presumed rapping under that name. This one's for you.
Drugs: Tis true, I USED to be a drug dealer in Hillsborough, NC. Ever since I watched a girl have a seizure off of one of my products, I can't even swallow a pill myself. I wish I could smoke, but due to recent medical enlightenment, I cannot. Not even cigarettes, and I quit cold turkey after smoking a pack or two a day for sometime. What people tell you about it being hard to quit is obviously bullshit. So no, don't be dumb, and ask if I smoke pot. I do have one weakness, and that is the bottle. Soda and alcohol, catch me later.
Where I'm From: I was born in Camp Lejeune, NC. My father is in the military, the Navy. He is a Corpsman. I was raised around Marines. I support the war, as do many of those fighting it. The reason you don't see the supporters on TV is because they took an active role in what they felt is right. I tried, but my medical condition got me denied. Back to the point, I was homeless for just less than seventy-five percent of a year. I floated around the streets of Lejeune and Jacksonvile. Then I moved to Durham, NC. I have also done little stints in the Shenadoah Valley of VA (that lasted a week) and in Hillsborough, NC. After a few months spent in Sanford, NC, where I met some of my most devoted fans, My family moved again. I currently reside in Durham, NC.
Juggaloism: Yes, I am a juggalo, to an extent. I have a high tolerance for the large insurgance of nutriding faggots as of late, especially the rappers. Got a problem, hit me up and I will hit you. Done deal. I've been down since I was 10. Eat a dick if you think you are a juggalo, and feel you can't listen to anything out side of commonly accepted 'Juggalo" music. Fuckin nutriding bitches.
Social Life: Hit me up, we'll chill. I just sleep between 10 am and 4 pm. Any time over night is fabulous. I take care of my people, and care a lot. Ask anyone who has talked to me. If you become a fan, you are my friend first and foremost. If you ever on the streets, hit me up somehow, and I will find a way to help you. If you want my number, ask motherfucker. I will give it to you, upon a reasonable exchange.
Rap Career: I started at the beginning of March 2008 writing, and recording in the midst of the Ides of March. I do charge for collabs, and i am willing to throwdown with you on anything, just i need to know what we are aiming for, and how much time I have to do it in. Ask my people, I work fast. Look at my blog for info on verses and mixing.
Gang Affiliation: You see me draped up in red and black, but i will be the first to tell you, I am the token white kid. I am not a gangbanger or claim affiliation like a some of these fake fuckers. I despise gang violence, especially by those who have no reason to fight except to partake in confrontation. Violence does fix problems, but preferably ones that matter, not what you do not represent. All my boys claim Crips, and my family say they have Blood affiliations. DO NOT INCLUDE ME IN YOUR GANGBANGER WANNA BE BULLSHIT.
