No shame here for the true

About Me

I'm a musician and songwriter, avid reader, and player of recreational sports (mountain biking, bowling, golf, etc.)
I am primarily a vocalist and bass player (electric and upright), but I'm actually a multi-instrumentalist; I dabble ..boards and piano, drums, guitar, trumpet and french horn, and about a dozen or two other instruments I've always got lying around. I've been in a number of bands over the years, and released several albums.
My current musical project is "Din Within" which can also be found on MySpace . It's a progressive rock project with a commercially accessible slant, sort of along the lines of Spock's Beard or Porcupine Tree - but we've a sound all our own. Our debut album releases on November 13, 2007 - over 60 minutes of music, professionally recorded, mixed, mastered, and duplicated. Also soon available on iTunes, CDBaby, and more. Check it out!
I also work for Gollihur Music , a specialist in Upright Bass (instruments, parts, accessories, amplifiers, pickups, strings, bows, etc.) It's the "family business," and it's lots of fun and very interesting!
Note to potential "MySpace Friends": I'm NOT into collecting MySpace "Friends" like trading cards. If you know me, I'll add you. If you don't, or I won't recognize you by your MySpace ID, send me a message BEFORE asking me to add you as a friend. Otherwise, I'm probably not interested, so don't bother.

So, I've been to a fair number of shows over the last 20 or so years, but most of them are smaller-format shows (a couple hundred people, tops). Over the past couple of weeks, I had the good fortune t...

It occurred to me on the way to work today that I don't really consider myself a huge concert-goer, even though I'm a musician and performer myself. That said, thinking about it, I've been to some pre...
