A wartime veteran (both in the natural and spiritual) and a 19-year veteran of the radio industry . I’m currently doing that radio thing as a part-time air-personality at Star 94.1 FM Gospel Radio in Virginia Beach. I’ve performed and voiced live and recorded spots and commercials for dozens of businesses and corporations over the years and really enjoy doing what I do. I’m grateful for the opportunities and the open doors in radio and will continue to utilize my talent and operate through this means to make an impact every where I go as this gives me great satisfaction, and most of all, encouraging others and making them smile brings joy to my heart. However, WHEN NOT ON THE RADIO, I spend countless hours encouraging and imparting truth into the lives of at risk teen girls and young children, which is my passion and I believe to be one of my assignments in this life. With a heart for the “whole†child; discerning the time and the importance of our children in our communities and those abroad; I have been activated into mentor-ship and in a posture of educator in the community striving to make a difference in both that neglected and/or abused child, as well as a positive role model and teacher to the very young child.( Kids At Heart Child Care on Facebook ) I believe that a strong family relationship is the backbone to a happy secure child. A lot of children do not have the family support and can easily fall into living their life full of untruths that will eventually manifest into an identity crisis that revolves around a low self-image, destruction, and even death. This generation of young people possess fabulous innate abilities, capacities for creative success, and talents that can be strengthened and nurtured…I thank God for entrusting me to be that “voice†for a children as a guide and coach that will ultimately be a contributing factor to the strengthening of their confidence in becoming their true unique selves. .. When a child is a victim of abuse by a member of their family, their world has changed forever. They may have loved their abuser and the abuser has turned the relationship into something sadistic and cruel. The victim of abuse is likely to feel very confused. How can they sort out the feelings of affection that they have for their abuser with the sick and disgusting act that was done to them. Feelings that result from abuse should not be buried away. Facts About Child Abuse* 84 percent of prison inmates were abused as children. * One in three girls and one in five boys are sexually abused by an adult at some time during childhood. (Most sexual abusers are someone in the family or someone the child knows, not the proverbial stranger with a lollipop.) * Families with four or more children have higher rates of abuse and neglect, especially if their living conditions are crowded or they live in isolated areas. * More than 80 percent of abusers are a parent or someone close to a child.
