This site is still under construction...here's the basics::::::::::::_____Formed in 1993 by drummer Richard Hammond and guitarist Michael Prenc. Joined on bass by Andre Prenc within a few months. By 1994 Lee "Skin" Wade was the frontman. Joined by second guitaris Damien Vennell around 1998.___________________________________________________ Released 2 demo tapes "Loathe Enmity" in 1994 and "Ultra Violence" in 1995 (getting "Demo of the month in Hot Metal magazine...an exciting moment for 4 idiots from Ballarat).____________________________________ Thanks to support from The Bridge Mall Inn and The Arthouse and acts such as Fallout, Damaged, Beanflipper, Dreadnaught, Mindsnare, Walsh Street Cop Killers, Vicious Circle, Velvet Hammer and many others Without A Reason went on to also record and release the full length cd "Unjust" in 1996, two 7" vinyls: "Last Resort" (split with Peanut) 1997ish and "Staunch" 1999. In 2000 a full length album "Sticking The Boots In" which finally captured the brutal direction, live energy and spirit of the band was recorded. Due to playing constantly (up to 40 gigs a year) and the stress this put on the band as individuals the cd was never released and although there was no official break up of the band, the momentum was lost and tempers had frayed. ___________________________there will be more updates made to this site, but it is with great pride that 6 of the 21 songs from Sticking The Boots In are finally able to be aired to the public. The plan is to release Sticking The Boots In sometime in 2008 and to possibly play one or two launches for it depending on the support and who in the Melbourne underground may take an interest. This will not be a reformation, but a brief reminder of how good live music in the Australian scene was before the industry and big business crushed even more life out of it (closing venues, fucking up distribution, GST etc.).
