About Me

I have a tight little inner world, sometimes. Sometimes rarer, I feel I can reach out in any direction and find myself gripping someone by the belly. It all comes of being a mythical tree-walk away from my daily learning, a long stare out of a moving window from dear friends, and two doors near to someone who can talk at me without any of my help.

My Interests

Sounds and their musical offspring.
Visuals and their arrangement into something not too logical.
Ideas and their swift flight towards the absurd.
People and all their better ideas.

I'd like to meet:

Maybe someone who can show me I haven't been unrepeatably lucky with whom I've already met. Or maybe a whole lot more of just the opposite.

Music:

Music is something we can all relate to. To narrow that down, I measure things much like a Geiger counter, by the number of clicks it induces in my brain. Here are some things that have clicked:
CAN, Talking Heads, Captain Beefheart, Patti Smith, The Velvet Underground, Faust, Brian Eno, The Fall, Entrance, John Coltrane, Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, The Stooges, Regina Spektor, Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd, The Pop Group, Suicide, Public Image Ltd., Bob Dylan, The White Stripes, Wire...

Movies:

Now that I have a room where I often feel lonely, where I have lamps I don't want shining, films build up a proper list:
TARKOVSKY goes far out to this side, Roma, Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, Sans Soleil, Coffee and Cigarettes, Mon Oncle, Brazil, Belleville Rendez-vous, La Belle et La Bete, Amelie, Little Otik, The Addiction, Pi, Donnie Darko, The Big Lebowski, Ghost World, Delicatessen, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen...

Television:

Television is food for the plebeian areas of the brain. I like to keep my plebs amused:
Mighty Boosh (though now gone to seed), Peep Show, Jeeves and Wooster, Countdown, all Chris Morris, Hey Arnold, Iron Chef, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Six Feet Under, The Office, Black Books...

Books:

It's pretty difficult to write without thinking, but here are some who I think think best:
GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ; Penguin Island -Anatole France; Lanark -Alasdair Gray; Franz Kafka's novels; Yann Martel, his novels and especially The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios; Under Milk Wood -Dylan Thomas; Lolita -Vladimir Nabokov; The Plague, The Fall -Albert Camus; Darkness at Noon -Arthur Koestler; Vernon God Little -DBC Pierre; The Ender Saga -Orson Scott Card...

Currently reading: Bright Air, Brilliant Fire -Gerald Edelman; Poor Things -Alasdair Gray; Jeeves and Wooster Omnibus -P. G. Wodehouse.

Heroes:

This used to be all wrong. Question is, is it righter like this?

My Blog

Some attention sought by yours truly

Not really, you don't have to bother yourself with this. 1. Who are you?2. Are we friends?3. When and how did we meet?4. How have I affected you?5. What do you think of me?6. What's the fondest memory...
