Biography
------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------
After years of playing in miscellaneous garage bands, guitarists Blaine Conzatti & Chase Whitener decided to get serious and put together a full-blown blues-rock band that played the goodtime music they loved so much. Complete with a great stageshow, Deuce was born. A revolving door of members followed, but they struck gold by discovering original singer/drummer Joe Magby in November of 2007, who had previously been pounding the skins at his father's church. Blaine's fellow jazz band bassist Matt Leitzinger completed the quartet, and their debut EP, Breakin' Through (produced by Brandon Stanley and recorded at Pacific Studios), was released on April 15, 2008. Shortly before the release, Matt Leitzinger left Deuce, and a revolving door of bassists ensued. Kyle Nash (bass) eventually joined the band, allowing Deuce to tour in support of their new EP.
Unfortunately, in June 2008 founding member/co-songwriter Chase Whitener left after over a year in the band, and while Deuce performed two more shows, they canceled their summer tour and disbanded.
Founding/member songwriter Blaine Conzatti kept the Deuce spirit alive by jamming with former Deuce member (bassist) Matt Leitzinger over the summer of 2008. It wasn't until Blaine began jamming with another bassist Beau Kapeliela and vocalist Austin Starr that Deuce officially reformed. In Janurary 2009, Deuce re-entered the studio with producer Tim McGovern (of The Motels, Burning Sensations & Knucklehead fame) to begin work on their new album. Deuce officially disbanded in August 09.
