It all started in Gr. 3...I signed up for the talent show at my ol' elementary school, and of course I performed a stand-up comedy routine followed by a cover of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On". I never would've thought it, but I won first place! I was asked to sing at the Gr. 8 graduation that year, next thing I knew I was a 'singer'.
In gr. 6 I was chillin' at my grandma's house, she didn't have a TV so I had to resort to the newspaper for my entertainment. I stumbled across an ad for open auditions for the role of Young Simba in the Theatre production of The Lion King. I thought it would be cool to give it a try...and four lucky auditions later I ended up landing the role of Young Simba at the Princess Of Wales Theatre in Toronto! On stage I found a passion and a joy in acting and singing that I never wanted to lose. Leaving the cast of The Lion King at the end of my stint was one of the most painful and heartbreaking things I've ever had to do.
Over the next few years I did a few commercials, and a ton of growing up. My family embraced my desire to be a part of the arts by doing all they could to allow me to grow up in an arts community. I'm so grateful to my parents for moving our family from small town Whitby to the big city Toronto, all so that I could attend an arts school; Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. At Cardinal Carter I majored in Vocal Music and sang as a Baritone/Bass in the choir for three years.
In my final year of high school, I was blessed with another outstanding acting gig. I landed the role of Sav Bhandari on the hit teen TV drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Joining the cast of such an amazing, long standing, successful TV show was an honour and I thank my lucky stars and my parents. Now in season 8, my second season on the show, I'm having the time of my life and just living and waiting anxiously to see what will happen next. All I know is I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, acting and singing everyday.
