About Me

I live and work in the greater Twin Cities (MN) area. Last summer (2008), I played two major blues festivals with "Little Bobby and the Storm". Over the past three years, I played around ten major blues festivals with them and was recorded on two of their CD's. I am no longer associated with the group, but they remain active, and are worth watching. Prior to that I was in the "Dee Miller Band". I play Blues Harp as a hobby, but when I play, I play hard - I work up a sweat, people dig it, girls get up and dance, it's great, so I keep coming back for another chance to "preach the blues". and so it goes.Currently I am studying Folk songs on the Mountain Dulcimer and Irish songs on the Concertina, along with reviving an old interest of mine, setting stuff on fire and juggling it. People forget that in 2001, the state of Illinois awarded me a fellowship for playwriting. At the time, I did the sensible thing, took the money , moved to Minnesota, and decided I wanted to be a Blues Harp player- well, now, I am now the real thing, and so, it is time to go back to my roots, and for me, my roots include writing songs for plays. Yep, it's time to write another full length musical - which is one of the most frustrating experiences you will ever do (if you've ever actually written a good full-length musical). But if you're in the Twin Cities and you need a real harp player for some serious Blues, I'm still around,

Lately I've been studying Sonny Terry's style through the Tom Ball book, and Carey Bells playing in 3rd position through another book.
