To all the people I met from the Skunk's Nest experience:
The bands, the kids coming to shows - you guys rocked. I am glad I got to meet each and every one of you and you are what I will miss the most from Skunk's Nest.
When I started Skunk's Nest I wanted to create a place when young people could go to enjoy themselves without having to go see bands far away from home and/or in a smoky bar scene. I remember when I was in high school and there really wasn’t anywhere for my friends and I to go and just hang out and enjoy original music.
I feel I accomplished this goal, but also created something so much more. However, I didn't do this alone; it took the whole Skunk's Nest staff and every person and band that came to Skunk's Nest. We ALL created a community. It didn't matter what music you liked, or how you dressed or what you or anyone else considered "cool", everyone respected each other and made each other feel at home. This was the most special thing about Skunk's Nest - that we were all like a family - a dysfunctional one at times ;p - but a family nonetheless.
I hope you take this experience and apply it to your lives - that our youth is the future of our world, that we are all one regardless of any stereotype that can created out of fear, if you take a chance and have faith you can accomplish more than you can ever imagine and so much more. I know I will. And no matter where I am in life, I will always have my memories of those great times that we all shared together.
And lastly, to anyone who wore a Skunk's Nest staff shirt and helped make Skunk's Nest the awesome place that it was - THANK YOU! Your hard work and dedication will never be forgotten or unappreciated.
Thank all you so much and keep in touch!
Sincerely,
Skunk
