About Me

DISCLAIMER: I am a whore, and I will work for the highest bidder. With that being said... I am a freelance audio engineer. I master albums, as well as recording / mixing artists. I work for local irish rockers Blackthorn as their front of house engineer and production manager. In addition I work as head engineer at Studio 420 in Berlin, NJ, whatever the fuck that means. We're more of a commune than anything else. I do a lot of hip hop and rap. I mainly do mixes but I'll fuck with an artist if I like them. Produce, record them, etc. Generally people come to me for mixes. I went to school for technical engineering, as well as audio engineering. I studied analog and digital theories, both on a venerable, yet reliable SSL 4000G+ console, and a great digital board from Yamaha, the DM2000, among many others. Since then, I have traveled with Blackthorn, working many environments and boards. Prior to school I produced local artists' demos, and working in shithole philly bars for chump change. (Fuck Abiline, south street. good riddens to that dive!) The work is fun and the pay is good, but I certainly prefer being a studio cat than a live sound engineer. That, or preferably building and repairing audio equipment. My specialty is condenser microphones.(Old tube mics!) I recently helped Sheffield decommission the 4000 to make room for the new Duality console, which is a very sweet piece. If you would like to check it out, go to www.sheffieldav.com and look up studio A. It is a wet and sticky dream...
I started as a visual artist, but decided that starving sucks. I was always fascinated with the inner workings of things, specifically, electronics. I am a self-proclaimed geek, and extremely proud of it. I am also one half of the instrumental progressive rock band A Big Name Act. www.myspace.com/abignameact. As for politics, I am completely uninterested in our policies. I'm not left or right. I am a reformist, in the vein of Dr. King or Thomas Jefferson. Politics do not represent beliefs, passions, imagination, or inspiration. Maybe once upon a time, but these are much different, much darker days. Politics are only a platform in which the "empowered" can pontificate their view, and seek to mandate it. It is a cold place, floating between two oceans, upon a throne of self righteousness and pomp.anyway.. So that is me, politically. I would get involved if democracy actually meant democracy.pop culture continues to fall, pulling more and more from the underground, like roots at the edge of a cliff. some go kicking and screaming. some get a limo ride. even a whore.in the end, it is all meaningless.in the end, you should just follow your dreams, and beware of the dreamsnatchers. they want yours, for they have none of their own.if you can't change the world, change yourself.
