Dorian was born on January 26, 1971 in Washington, DC. He was also raised in Cleveland, Ohio until the age of nine when he and his family moved to Los Angeles, California. During that same period, young Dorian was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, or Type I, a disease that wallops children and causes the pancreas not to produce insulin and there is no cure for it, just treatments. He studied broadcasting and television production in college.Dorian played bass from elementary school to his freshman year in high school before he became interested in D.J.'ing at parties. This led to forming a house party D.J./MC service with several friends. While in college with a major in broadcasting and television production, he emerged as an in demand "producer" on campus, working with many local bands in the production of their music demos. Meanwhile he attended some "open casting calls" (as an actor) for commercials. It was when he discovered acting that Gregory started taking drama classes, theater workshops, and scene study. To pay the bills, he even took a job as a private fitness trainer and in club promotions, which segued into work as a doorman, bouncer, and D.J. at some local nightspots in North Hollywood and the "Valley".After finding an agent, Dorian began getting semi-regular work in music videos, commercials, sports and athletic wear, print modeling jobs, some sketch comedy troupe work, and finally, several major commercial work and various work in sitcoms, soaps, and dramatic television series, to name a few. He could be seen in episodes of "Baywatch" (1991)," Sister, Sister" (1995),"Beverly Hills 90210" (1995), and others before landing his first major role as clairvoyant Diamont Teague on Baywatch Nights, a regular role he played between 1996 and 1997. During this time, he also worked as a co-host on the "politically incorrect" weekly radio talk show "The Cigar Show".Dorian went on to guest star in many TV series like "Lois and Clark: the New Adventures of Superman" (1997), "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" (1996-1997), "Pacific Blue" (1997), "Moesha" (1998), "Third Rock from the Sun" (1999), and appeared in the 1997 films "The Apocalypse", an action/sci-fi by director Hubert C. de la Bouillerie, and "Just Write", a comedy starring Sherylin Fenn and Jeremy Piven. However, he did not come to prominence until he took on the role of Detective Darryl Morris on the successful dramatic series "Charmed", where he belonged to the regular cast from 1998 to 2005. Dorian also done a kickboxing workout video, calendar layouts (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001), voiceovers, and hosted many events.While working on the show, in the spring of 2002, he teamed with Dick Clark, Danny Bonaduce, and Mario Lopez to co-host the talk show "The Other Half", which aired in syndication on NBC. The next year, he became host of the music show "Soul Train" and played the role of Lucius Johnson in the comedy feature "Deliver Us from Eva", opposite LL Cool J and Gabrielle Union.After "Charmed", Dorian made a guest appearence in an episode of "The Bad Girls' Guide" (2005) and had a supporting role in the comedy/romance "Getting Played" (2005) written and directed by David Silberg and starring Vivica A. Fox and Carmen Electra. The actor has a comedy movie coming out titled "Show Stoppers" (2008). The upcoming film will see Dorian as final judge.Off screen, Dorian is an active humanitarian. He has participated in such organizations as the Jeopardy Program, supported by the Los Angeles Police Department for youth at risk, and the American Diabetes Association, serving as the national spokesperson and advocate for the group. Additionally, he is keenly involved with AIDS Project LA and for the organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Dorian is one of the founding members of the Epiphany Theater Group, set up by writer/producer/director Bill Duke.Dorian is single and resides in Los Angeles. He has a sister named Mercedes and performs in a neo-soul/hip-hop music group called MD Says. Dorian enjoys going commando, even in leather pants. He is also colorblind. ..
