About Me
Kids! on Mars is a teenage hip-hop group hailing from Houston, TX. With lyrically intricate wordplay and smooth soul production, these martians orbit Planet Earth on an important mission: to bring real hip-hop back to life.
On January 18, 2008, junior high students Chase Rockk and Rob C came together to form a group known as Kids! on Mars. Utilizing Robert's laptop, Mixcraft, a Radio Shack mic, and some Cobe headphones, Kids! on Mars went on to record their first track Nikes, a tribute to sneaker heads around the world, as well as a freestyle track.
Organizing a Band MySpace and unveiling a few demo tracks, they generated a buzz around their junior high school, where they'd later audition for a school talent show and place in first for $250 which contributed to better studio equipment. As time progressed, Kids! on Mars continued to garner more views and plays, their fan base slowly accumulating by the thousands.
Throughout their musical existence, Kids! on Mars has acquired affiliations with acclaimed artists such as 88-Keys, Native Gunz, Endo Williams, and DJ Steez, and has performed at open mic spots, night clubs, and lounges, as well as independent artist showcases.
Their first release, The Kids! on Mars EP, became available on iTunes and Rhapsody, February 14, 2009, for online download. A line of official band merchandise consisting of t-shirts, hoodies, and promotional items was made available around the same time period.
It was in March of 2009, that the band peacefully split up to pursue personal interests. While Chase Rockk went on to create his own persona as a music producer, designer, and graffiti artist, Rob C went on to pursue a solo career as Bobby Earth.
