THE QUESTION MARK INSIDE

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ART

About Me

http://www.pimpmyarea.com

Thank you for visiting the Official Myspace Page for 'The Question Mark Inside'. This page was built by me, Kelly Harker together with public artist Martin Firrell to help to mark the 300th anniversary of the topping out of St Paul’s Cathedral and the end of the Cathedral’s £40 million restoration campaign.

The Question Mark Inside THE QUESTION MARK INSIDE is Martin Firrell’s new projection project commissioned by St Paul’s Cathedral.
With this project, Martin Firrell wants to understand what gives people's lives meaning, and with that understanding, he aims to promote dialogue and harmony between faiths.

The Cathedral building will take on a new life, re-coloured midnight blue and leading the viewer into conversation through Firrell’s characteristically provocative statements.

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE THE QUESTION MARK INSIDE?

We all wonder about what gives our lives meaning. It could be a child, a smile, an ambition, a particular hope, a love, the sun after rain, the sea, a whisper in the dark.

What are the words that describe what's important to you, and your own feelings about life's meaning? What are the words that describe your feelings about the Cathedral Building of St Paul's?

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Martin Firrell

Martin Firrell is a cultural activist who places text in public space in order to promote positive social change. He has raised questions about the politics of ageing, individual liberty, the right to personal idiosyncrasy, cultural diversity, faith, climate change, masculinity, hero worship, and fair and truthful government. He has used cinema screens, newsprint, the internet and large-scale digital projection onto the National Gallery, the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Tate Britain.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Martin is inviting you to come and get involved by adding your thoughts to the blog page:

THE QUESTION MARK INSIDE BLOG SPOT

There is now a blog page created especially for kids! Please follow this link: KIDS BLOG SPOT

Martin is keen on understanding how people who have visited the Cathedral feel about it.

The final work will be based on all of these contributions (anyone familiar with HERO will know how this works)

The whole project is officially LIVE on the St Paul's Cathedral website (www.stpauls.co.uk) and it will grow there, culminating in projections onto the cathedral in November.

Whilst the project is open to everyone, Martin is really keen to hear from people of faith. St Paul's is the Cathedral Church for London, the world's most culturally diverse city, so whilst the Cathedral is part of the Church of England, it is also open to all faiths and he is very keen to hear from everyone: roman catholics, muslims, jews, hindus, buddhists etc.

ADD A BANNER TO YOUR PROFILE

Add a banner to your bulletin posts and web pages. Help us to get word out about the project and the opportunity it offers for anyone to contribute to a major public art project in London.

OTHER WAYS TO BECOME INVOLVED

Tell everyone you know about the project, and get everyone to join in.

YOU CAN DONATE

The other way to contribute is to send a little donation via the link on the Question Mark Inside website, or you can donate directly by following these links

In the United States (and to qualify for tax benifits)

In the UK (qualifies fro gift aid)

A donation could be as small as a dollar but it would mean the world to the project - not just the money to help make this project promoting harmony between faiths possible - but it shows you're backing the idea, that you give a damn, that you want to be a supporter.
