my name is lauren, or some variation of it, and i'm currently a junior at cb south. i'm a writer, at least that's what i see when i look in the mirror. i dance, i sing, i act, nothing too unoriginal. i love being with my friends, and the people i love most in the world. music doesn't inspire me as much as it does everyone else. instead, i have a tendency to appreciate real things, like photography, family, natural beauty, nature and writers. Poe, Oscar Wilde, Stephen King, The Brothers Grimm, people whose words have had impact on the lives of others, including my own. my words will get out there one day, and my name will join theirs.
Broken, she clings to a shattered illusion of what was, what used to be. Everything she once had known and loved, gone in an instant. Ghosts of the past linger upon the doorstep of innocence, silently asking to cross through the threshold. Is this all there is now, a world where darkness reigns? Hope disappears, fleeing at the first sign of danger. Is it a sin to want? To feel? Fear is the only comfort she will ever know, as she clings to the shattered mirror of her dreams, only to bleed on what is left.
