About Me

Deep and Spade have been brothers for as long as Deep has been alive. Before that Spade didn't have a brother. The brothers hail from a rare corner of West Yorkshire that is nestled up to the border of North Yorkshire from whence Juice came.
Spade and Deep recorded many tracks together; memorable tunes such as 'Loody Dardy' and 'Keycamp Holidays' have gone down in the history books as the best songs about their dad flushing the toilet and tent holidays in France repectively.
Later on in their infantile, but increasingly Hip Hoppy, careers Mr. Wolf (as Spade was then known) and Dr. Deep had a smash hit with 'Screamer', a track about the PC racing game of the same name (actually it was 'Screamer 2').
Spade and Deep both played in the Christian rock group Duplo and had some very successful live gigs where their rhyming skills were noticed to be of a great quality, not to mention their musicianship.
Spade then released the highly sought after 'Are You On The List?' which featured Dr. Deep on 'New Year' with some very memorable and oft quoted lyrics. The LP also featured members of Duplo.
Since then Spade has gone by many names recording music with a Hip Hop and Drum 'n' Bass Vibe. Monikers such as DJ Hoobydangler and Hservant (and for a brief period Decksterous) have seen Spade create some of the finest jaunty Drum 'n' Bass (including the dance floor smash/10CC plundering 'I Don't Like Cricket') and some of the most thoughtful Christian rap known to mankind. During this period Deep concentrated mainly on calculus of the beat science and crafted such masterpieces as the Ace Ventura sampling 'Bumblebee Tuna' and a full recreation of Nas' 'The Message'. During this time the two collaborated on a small project: The Scally Rap EP. 'The Scally Rap' brought local fame with all of their mates and their siblings mates and a very hilarious live appearance was made during a party. This project was complemented by the (better) remix and the D'n'B jump-up classic 'Where's Me Nova?'.
Nestled somewhere in this period was a time when, during free periods in the 6th form lounge, Juice and Deep would rap their knuckles to the bone and they decided to get some tracks together. Deep in the archives are lyrics and beats for an album that never got made. Tracks such as 'W-O-D' and 'Scally Rap 2' may never see the light of day again, but then again, they might.
In 2007 a concept was born, that of a group containing not only Deep and Spade but also of MC Juice; Bradley's own rising Hip Hop talent. Bringing a much needed fashionable look to the group dynamic and a flawless delivery, Jwaas is an essential piece of the 3 piece jigsaw that is Among Others. Juice has burst onto the scene with two chilled out pieces of his mind - 'Dreams' and 'Angel'.
The name was born out of frustration about the fact that there is some trashy school rock band called 'Amongst Others' which was the intended alias of the three united Yorkshire boys. Among Others, whilst lacking that certain 'je ne sais quoi' is still a really clever name. So next time you see that your favourite rapper has 'worked with Jay-Z, Eminem, among others', you'll know that we've had our hand in there somewhere.
