The Main Stage at the Metro Music Expo will feature a complete concert experience for both the performers and the audience. Main Stage sound and lighting is courtesy of Pegasus Entertainment and boasts an enormous stage, booming sound system and dazzling light show.
Friday, September 12th
7:00 pm – WRIF “Big Breakâ€
WRIF-FM will give one lucky Detroit area band a “Big Break†which will include recording studio time with Synergy Media Seven, video tape of their band’s performance, a feature on WRIF’s “Motor City Riffs†and the opening slot for Tesla at The Fillmore on October 17th! Through online voting, WRIF will determine the three final bands that will perform at The Metro Music Expo on Friday, September 12th in front of a panel of industry judges. One talented band will walk away that evening with a “Big Break†courtesy of 101 The WRIF!

FOX 2, DTE Energy Music Theater and the Metro Music Expo are giving one local band the chance of a lifetime. They will perform live as the opening act for legendary southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd!
Visitors to myFOXDetroit.com listened to the band contestants and voted for their favorites. The ultimate winner of the Grand Prize will share the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd on September 21 at the DTE Energy Music Theater.

Bose Lounge Stage
Chill out in the Bose Lounge at the MME! Bask in the cool lounge lighting provided by Fantasee. Relax on the couches, enjoy a beverage at the Monster Energy Drink bar and take in some of the region’s hottest bands.
The Metro Music Expo is pleased to announce that the lounge area stage will be equipped with Bose L1® systems - a completely new and different approach to live sound. The L1 Model II system combined with the T1 ToneMatch® audio engine will allow the bands and audience in the Bose Lounge to experience smooth and consistent sound coverage with exceptional clarity throughout the venue.

Live Sound Technologies (Dynacord & Electro Voice): This clinic brings everything together….Electronics, Microphones, Wireless and Speakers. Discussion will be based around how to integrate all these elements together to optimize your live sound. Microphones and Wireless (Electro Voice): Choosing the right microphone is a detail that is more important than some realize. This session is dedicated to aiding you in choosing the right mic for the job. Topics to be covered include: dynamic and condenser technologies, different polar patterns, and magnetic materials. As with all sessions provided by Bosch Communications, an extensive Q & A session will follow. Friday at 7:00 PM
Electronics in Sound Systems (Dynacord & Electro Voice): This session will cover all things electronics! Representatives from EV and Dynacord will cover the basics in electronics and then answer any specific questions you may have. Discussion to include: Mixing Consoles, Analog vs. Digital: What is the best tool for the job? Powered mixers and non-powered mixers: Which one is right for you? Power Amps: Technology types and class differences will be covered. Selection & Operation of In Ear Monitors: High stage volumes are a serious problem and in-ear monitors are a solution. Learn how these tools can offer solutions for loud stage levels, feedback and consistent mixes, while improving the performance experience for the band and the audience.
